What Successful People Do – Is NOT Rocket Science

“If you are not growing, you are dying”. And how true this familiar phrase is, because it reminds me of a time I was dying, and life was crashing down …

It was the perfect practicum placement for me, because I wasn’t taping ankles with my Physical Education Degree, or teaching a gym glass. Instead I was behind the scenes and on the marketing team for 2 major international sporting events. It was incredible! A dream come true, but coming down from this high, was a crash landing.

Turned out, (in my opinion at the time) the world owed me something really big, because of what “I had accomplished” in doing such an important practicum. This worked about as good as throwing as a pilot closing with his eyes closed and feet up while landing a plane. If you’re interested in my personal crash landing, this is how it looked.

“If you are not growing, you are dying.”Unknown, but often quoted

First off, my university room-mate and dependable best friend unexpectedly moved out. And while my eyes closed, I didn’t check the radar before landing, because next came 2.5 months where instead of pouring over offers from the NHL or NBA, I was spending my time trying to find the eject button. It was an incredibly uncomfortable time of my life.

And FINALLY I GOT THE LESSON!!

And the lesson was “keep growing and going”. And this very lesson has paid off in spades, because I now know first hand, that when I keep growing and going remarkable opportunities appear. And now it’s common to have 2-3 incredible events or experiences every single day! Not that things are perfect, but I never thought life could be this good. And I owe a giant portion of it to Higher Laws, and the 3 Day Course that I first took 2 years go.

(Make it clear, I don’t share this to gloat. Instead, to point out a true fact, that we can ALL apply.)

On top of my own personal story, I know dozens of friends who took their first Higher Laws course this year, and have their own results and stories to prove it! Everything from couples that are now renewing their wedding vows, to new business owners, making thousands more than I thought possible for a new business owner. Which you can ask me about personally if you like (Kyle@HigherLaws.com).

How did they do this?

And as it was once so eloquently about decisions …

“Successful people make important decisions early in their life, and then they manage these decisions the rest of their life.” – John Maxwell

That’s it! The science is now unravelled.

What important decisions are you making?

Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas,

Kyle

Kyle…this quote absolutely blew my mind, thank you so so much for sharing it. In the past and now even more I’ve been able to recognize truth, and ‘make an important decision’, and I’m very blessed in this way. How challenging it’s proving to be though, to ‘manage these decisions’ and live out the truth I’ve been so moved by and sure of.

    Thanks for the amazing post,
    Dev

Hey Devan – thanks for your comment. Yes — I will never forget when I heard Maxwell say that over 2 years ago. I listened to it over and over again, b/c it was also so impactful for me.

Yeah, it’s not always easy. And it’s just like the flipchart at Brandon’s events, are we going to make decisions based on Principle or Circumstance? It’s simple … which way are we going to go with our important decision(s)?

Personally, I now know that at times of decision, there was a lot more on the line than I could see. And I can see it all looking back (just like Steve Jobs says).

    Thanks for your comment :)

    Good luck!
